Private client – Zwolle
We designed customized lighting for three rooms in a penthouse with the ‘Contour’ series.
The kitchen contains two large fixtures, each of which works both functionally and atmospheric. The bottom line in the fixture illuminates the kitchen counter or table and can be adjusted independently of the other light lines. For example, a brighter white can be chosen towards the table, while the other lines, spread a warm orange glow against the ceiling and walls.
The penthouse has a phenomenal view of all the water in Zwolle, almost 360 degrees around. The weather conditions and daylight colors largely determine the atmosphere in the rooms, making it very important that the lighting is properly adjustable. A control system with Philips hue has been chosen for all rooms. Various preferred settings can be made with this system. It works very user-friendly with an app and switches on the wall.
For the living room, a play of lines was chosen that is situated parallel to the sloping ceiling, in combination with a part of a circle. The luminaires point in different directions, creating a play of direct and indirect light. In total there are 7 separate fixtures in the living room that together form 1 light installation. The electricity and control have been concealed in a tailor-made ceiling solution. The fixtures are individually adjustable in color: you can choose a very colorful setting or a more neutral color scheme.
The corridor is lit by 3 separate luminaires, each directly connected to the electricity point in the ceiling. The ceiling lamp with the circle has 2 color groups so that you can set the light that shines towards the ceiling in a different color than the lines that shine down. We took care of the entire process, from sketching and scale model making to production and the installation and explanation of the control system.
